Synopsis: Our DIY conservatories are available with a range of different glass and polycarbonate roof options. If you decide on a polycarbonate roof you can choose between 25mm and 35mm, each of which are available in clear, opal, bronze or bronze antis- sun.....

The 35mm offers a relatively inexpensive upgrade and has better insulation values. A bronze anti-sun roof provides some extra protection during sunny days and as the name suggests lets in less of the heat and sun's rays. If you are opting for s glass roof then you can choose from several different options all offering different u valves which determine how much heat and UV light will pass through the roof. We offer standard toughened safety glass (argon filled as standard), low e safety glass, Celsius clear, Bronze anti sun, Celsius one, Pilkington active blue self clean and Celsius elite, so there is sure to be something to meet your needs.

The option you choose for your roof will likely be determined by the frequency of us of the conservatory, whether your property is north or south facing and the budget you have to complete your project. A high performance glass in your diy conservatory roof might increase the total cost of your purchase significantly so might not be worth the additional cost if the room is not going to be used frequently - however if the conservatory is south facing and going to be used for long periods on a daily basis the additional cost may well be worth the investment.

If you need any help or advice on which roof to choose our friendly team will be happy to talk through the pros and cons of all the different roof types. We also have a page on the site which shows the technical data for the different options to assist you which can be found here.
